About me

Andrew Cunningham

With over 15 years of practical experience, Andrew has worked in most areas within the arboricultural sector.

He gained an academic education within Arboriculture during courses at Westonbirt Arboretum and Myerscough College. He also is s a professional member of the Arboricultural Association, an associate member of the Institute of chartered Foresters and is a licenced Quantified Tree Risk Assessment user.

Hands on experience whilst working as a tree surgeon helped him to gain knowledge in tree physiology and mechanics first hand, which enabled him to progress to becoming a tree surveyor at technician level.

For the past five years Andrew has been working as a Arboricultural Consultant based in Gloucestershire. His work centres around trees and the built environment, whether this is through proposed development or the assessment and preservation of our existing tree heritage.

My work

Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire

Cheltenham Racecourse, Gloucestershire

A detailed tree risk assessment was carried out to all trees within the racecourse site. This involved identifying tree related hazards, assessing potential risks and prioritising appropriate tree works to mitigate those risks.

Medmenham, Buckinghamshire

Medmenham, Buckinghamshire

A detailed tree survey was carried to identify the arboricultural constraints to a proposed exclusive eco-dwelling development. In addition, a detailed tree and woodland management plan was produced to ensure the future longevity of the existing tree stock on site.

Whitemead Caravan Park, Lydney, Gloucestershire

Whitemead Caravan Park, Lydney, Gloucestershire

Working as part of a multi-disciplined team, I provided arboricultural advice to accompany a planning application for an eco-pod camp site development. The development was located within a mature woodland setting which presented many arboricultural constraints.
